Our Volunteers are the Heart of our House.
The Ronald McDonald House is supported by a strong foundation of volunteers. Their gifts of love and compassion make this House more than just a place to stay, they make it a home. Volunteers make the difference in the lives of all the families that come through our doors.
On behalf of the hundreds of families we help every year, we say “Thank You!” and invite you to find your own volunteer opportunity.

The steps to volunteer are simple:
- You must be 16 years or older.
- View our current openings and other ways to volunteer.
- Submit the online inquiry below.
- Schedule an interview & tour of our House.
- Complete the Volunteer Application.
- Attend a brief orientation.
- Start Volunteering!

- Tuesdays (biweekly) – 4pm to 7pm
- Thursdays (choice of weekly or biweekly) 4pm to 7pm
- Saturdays (odd weeks) – 8am to 12pm
- Saturdays (choice of weekly or biweekly) – 12pm to 4pm
- We are also looking for Front Desk volunteers whose are able to help on a fill-in/call-in basis.
- Happy Wheels Cart (a hospitiality cart at Valley Children’s Hospital)
- Tuesdays (biweekly) 2pm to 5pm
- Thursdays (biweekly) 6pm to 8pm
WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
There is always something going on in our House that we are in need of some extra hands for! We would love your help with the odds and ends we need completed to operate! Here are some ways you can volunteer:
Front Desk Volunteer (individual volunteer)
Work with our guests to provide a home-like environment by greeting guests & visitors, assisting with family needs, answering phones, transporting families to and from the hospital, and other duties. A friendly outgoing personality and minimum 6-month commitment is preferred, and clean DMV drivers record are required for this volunteer position. Click here to see the service description.
Light Housekeeping/Maintenance (individual or small group)
Are you a neat-freak or just enjoy cleaning? Help keep our House in sparkling condition! We are always looking for individuals or small groups to help clean windows, wipe down tables & chairs, sweep, vacuum, and clean our three kitchens. We also welcome those with special skills like electricians and plumbers to help with maintenance tasks.
Family Activities (individual or small group)
Here’s your chance to get crafty and creative! Hosting a fun activity provides families staying here with much needed distractions. These volunteer led activities can be done year-round or themed around an upcoming holiday. Some activity ideas include (but not limited to), Arts & Crafts, Movie Nights, Baking Activity, Cookie/Cupcake Decorating, Spa Services, and Pet Visitors (therapy/service animals).
Annual & Special Events Volunteer (individual or group)
Volunteer at any of our special fundraising events throughout the year. Our events are a fun way to support the House, both as an individual or as part of a team. Our upcoming events can be found on our Event Calendar.
Meals From The Heart (group)
This is a fantastic way for a family, friends, community or corporate group to give back and bond at the same time! You can sign-up to host a breakfast, lunch, or dinner any day of the year. Find out more information on our Meals From The Heart page.
Red Shoe Society (individual)
Are you a young professional looking to get involved? Consider joining our guild of young business professionals. Throughout the year this dynamic group raises awareness and funds for our House and hosts an annual event. For more information email, firstname.lastname@example.org
Fundraising Committee (individual)
Are you the super creative type or experience planning events ? Put your skills to use and join one of our fundraising committees. We have several annual events and are always looking for energetic and creative people to help make our events successful.
