Lowe’s Home Improvement Remodels Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley

Madera, Calif.—June 4, 2018—Lowe’s Home Improvement of Madera will renovate part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley (RMHC) North Wing on June 12 and 13 as part of RMHC’s Adopt A Room program. Lowe’s Madera employees will serve the house as contractors, landscapers and painters as they renovate part of the 18-room house.

The Adopt A Room partnership is a program which allows companies, organizations, and families to be the exclusive room sponsor for one of the 18 rooms at the RMHC. The $5,000 annual donation sponsors all of the families who stay in the adopted room throughout the year and funds room upgrades in partnership with Lowe’s. Lowe’s became an Adopt A Room sponsor in 2016 and has continued to support the House through periodic renovations and volunteer work.

“The support from community leaders like Lowe’s Madera is essential to the success of the Ronald McDonald House,” said Dr. Kent Karsevar, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. “We are very fortunate to have the support of the Lowe’s network, and look forward to providing updated accommodations for our families.”

Lowe’s employees will renovate four bathrooms in the house, which includes the installation of new vanities, light kits, toilets and showers. The Lowe’s landscape design team will focus on the exterior of the house, reinvigorating the nursery in the front parking lot rotunda. The company’s live nursery specialists will plant fresh foliage and colorful flowers alongside the entryway of the house. The team will also paint the house’s front fence.

“We are honored to continue our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley,” said Tony Cardona, Lowe’s Madera store manager. “It’s heartwarming to see our staff come together to support families in need. We are proud to provide additional updates for the house.”

Each year, hundreds of families stay at the Ronald McDonald House of the Central Valley, which is funded by the generosity of the local community.
