Local Barber Provides Free Haircuts For Guest Families Staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley

Carlos Martinez, barber at Dope Barber Shop, will donate his hairstyling services to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley (RMHC) each month for an entire year

April 29, 2019—MADERA, Calif.—Carlos Martinez “The Classic Barber” of Fresno, Calif. will donate his barbering services to the guest families at the Ronald McDonald House on the first Monday of every month for the next year. Carlos received his Barber License earlier this year and has a passion for supporting children and families facing difficulties.

“When a child is hospitalized, parents and siblings can often forget to care for themselves during this difficult time,” said Carlos. “I just want to do my part in helping these parents have a little bit of relief while their child is sick.”

Carlos began his donation days at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley in April of 2019 and the turnout was large, providing haircuts for over 20 individuals on the first day of his services alone.

“When Carlos set up his mobile barber shop in our Ronald McDonald House living room last month, I was impressed at the number of children and families lined up to get their hair cut,” said Dr. Kent Karsevar, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. “It’s a testament to how important Carlos’s barbering services are to the families serve. We thank Carlos for his commitment to supporting the children and guest families at the Ronald McDonald House.”

The next time Carlos will be at the Ronald McDonald House providing hairstyling services for families at RMHC on Monday, May 6 at 8 a.m. For more information on volunteering or donating to the Ronald McDonald House, visit www.rmhccv.org/volunteer.
