THE UNITED STATES COAST AUXILIARY “FILL THE BOAT TOY DRIVE” COLLECTED OVER 700 TOYS FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley was the beneficiary of the “Fill the Boat Toy Drive” in Modesto on December 8th.
December 11, 2018- MODESTO, CALIF., –The United States Coast Auxiliary held its annual Fill the Boat Toy Drive on December 8, 2019 at the Modesto Wal-Mart parking lot in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley. This year the Fill the Boat toy drive collected over 700 toys for the children and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley.
Members of the United States Coast Auxiliary Tom Hoisington and Michael Raffatti have been the coordinators of this event for the last four years. The United States Coast Auxiliary Flotilla 10-02 boat was on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Modesto community stopped by the Wal-Mart Parking lot to Fill the Boat with toys. An estimated 500 patrons supported the event this year.
“We are so grateful to be the beneficiary of this great event year after year,” said Dr. Kent Karsevar, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. “This event continues to help a lot of the families who are not able to go out and go shopping to get what they need for their families during the holiday season.”
The Modesto community came together to donate new, unwrapped toys for the children staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley. These toys bring holiday cheer to families who cannot be home for the holidays. Community partners including the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, Modesto Fire Department, and Sunny 102.3 Radio were generous supporters of the event. Mr. and Mrs. Claus even stopped by to greet and take photos with donors.
